Stop the Closure of the UK's Only Wind Turbine Factory

Just when we need a huge expansion in renewable energy, they are closing down the only wind turbine factory in the UK. The government has spent billions bailing out the banks, and £2.3 billion in loan guarantees to support the UK car industry - they can and should step in to save the infrastructure we are really going to need to save us from climate catastrophe.

Oxford City Mobiliser Internship

Help build The Wave, the UK's biggest ever demonstration on climate change!
Do you live in Oxford? Do you know your local climate campaign scene? Are you happy talking to people, organising meetings, publicising events, networking with a range of local organisations? On Saturday 5 December 2009, ahead of the crucial UN climate summit in Copenhagen, tens of thousands of people from all walks of life will flow through the streets of London to demonstrate their support for a safe climate future for all. We need a friendly and helpful volunteer to help build The Wave, working one-two days per week from the COIN office in Oxford.

Climate Solidarity: COIN Launches Biggest Ever UK Environmental Engagement Project

COIN is launching an innovative new project, funded by Defra’s Greener Living Fund, aimed at mobilising the UK Trade Union movement on climate change. The project will see COIN working with Trade Union members to build a sustainable society in which new low carbon workplaces thrive and provide green jobs for the future. It builds on core Trade Union ideals of collective action, social justice and solidarity and will mobilise a combined union membership of nearly one million.

Climate Change Refugee Forum

Are you an activist in the refugee or migrant community? Can you help out on a meeting for refugees and migrants about Climate Change? COIN will be holding a four hour forum in London in July in partnership with Migrant Rights, Praxis, Refugee Action and the Refugee Council to give UK refugees and migrants the opportunity to talk about climate change. We hope this will be the first of a series of forums.
